Workshop Information: 

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Learn the importance of affect in delivering an appropriate interpreted message. At the conclusion of this workshop the participants will understand the importance of affect in delivering the appropriate emotion from the source. They will learn about techniques dealing with posture, facial expression, demeanor, interpreter position, stance, and signing style.

Presenter Biography: Kevin Dyels, CI & CT 

Kevin Dyels is a professional sign language interpreter and a member of the Board of Directors of PCRID. He is a co-owner of a performing arts interpreting company called First Chair Interpreted Productions and commits to mentoring new interpreters. Originally from northern California, Kevin presents workshops in theater, affect, team building, and self-confidence locally, nationally and in Hong Kong. He has a degree in theater and when not interpreting , Kevin coordinates interpreters for various conferences and works as a professional sound designer and disc jockey. In his spare time he enjoys international travel.
