    Virginia RID’s (VRID) board of directors met recently after empanelling our
    new district representatives: District I (Northern Virginia) Lauren McCann,
    District II (Richmond Metro) Nicole Thorn, District III (Hampton Roads) Holly
    Mayo, District IV (Staunton/Charlottesville) Carrie Humphrey and District V
    (Roanoke/Blacksburg) Diane Dorrell. The planning stages for the biennial
    conference is well underway. This years conference will be held at the
    Doubletree Hotel in Charlottesville, VA, June 28-20, 2010. For information, or
    to volunteer, please contact Tara Handy Palmer, conference chair at
    tabasco12@yahoo.com. Also, VRID is revamping its Web site (which is long
    overdue!). Look for a more user-friendly interface, as well as a new look!
    Thanks to District I Representative, Lauren McCann for all the legwork on our
    new site.

    The Executive Board of Virginia RID comes up for election this year. Please
    start considering whether you’d like to volunteer as a member of the board.
    The available positions will be president, vice president, treasurer, secretary
    and membership director. For more information, please contact Jay Penuel at

    October VRID E-NEWS

    Hello VRID Members!

    Don’t forget VRID will be having its general membership meeting on Saturday, October 24, 2009 (That’s RIGHT!  2 weeks from today!) at the Richmond Marriott  (500 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA  23219) at 11:00am.  At this meeting, we’ll discuss the state of the association, our upcoming conference (which is June 18-20, 2010 at the Doubletree Hotel in Charlottesville, VA) and voting for our District Representatives.  If you’re interested in being a District Rep, please email me at president@vrid.org!  Lunch will be provided.  Please RSVP to president@vrid.org so that we can get an accurate headcount for lunch.  If anyone has any special dietary needs, please indicate that in your RSVP email.
