Welcome to VRID!

VRID, established January 18, 1969, is a state chapter of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), founded in 1964. It is the mission of RID to provide international, national, regional, state and local forums and an organizational structure for the continued growth and development of the profession of interpretation and transliteration of American Sign Language and English.

Mentorship Interest Survey

In response to discussions at the 2016 VRID Conference, the VRID membership passed a motion to establish a Mentorship Task Force. This effort is set to address the need in our state for interpreter mentoring partnerships and shared mentoring and professional resources.

The Mentorship Task Force has been in collaboration on organizing a mentorship database, along with other resources that will enable professional mentorship partnerships and interpreters to network and effectively invest in service quality for the integrity of the profession.

Please complete this short survey before August 7th, 2017 to reflect your interest in being a part of the Mentorship Database/Resources.

Please note, submitting this survey serves as consent for VRID to  the data for the purposes of establishing for mentoring opportunities in Virginia.  No identifiable information will be shared outside of the taskforce unless permission is given via the last question of the survey.
