Call for VRID Mentorship Task Force

In response to discussions at the 2016 VRID Conference, the VRID membership passed a motion calling for the establishment of a VRID Mentorship Task Force. The Task Force, consisting of approximately 5 members and a VRID Board Member Liaison, will serve a two year term, effective September 1, 2016-June 30, 2018.
The Task Force will:
  • Solicit feedback from VRID membership and community stakeholders in order to identify interest and training needs
  • Establish partnerships with, but not limited to, state agencies, local school systems, ITPs, and interpreting agencies
  • Work in conjunction with the VRID Board and Professional Development Coordinator to identify and coordinate mentorship training opportunities
  • Establish an online learning community and mentor database
  • Develop a repository of mentoring resources

The Call for the Mentorship Task Force is now closed. The VRID Board is currently reviewing the applications and will announce the Task Force members soon.

Want to volunteer with VRID, but not interested in serving on the Task Force? We need District I (Northern Virginia) & District III (Hampton Roads & Eastern Shore) Representatives to complete the 2015-2017 term. If interested, contact Tammy Taylor Fortune, VRID President.
